Trip You Should Do If You Only Have Realy Short Time In Jakarta

Jakarta has always been the first gate to anyone who paid a visit to Indonesia. Whether it's for a business trip or for traveling.
Because the international airport is located in Jakarta.

My previous post is about a long term vacation from Jakarta-Bali via landline.
How about you guys who only have a short time in Jakarta? Or have the time to spare in Jakarta between your business trip, but in a short time?

This is my summary information I already gathered to share to you guys who have short time in Jakarta. Although you have short time, you still could enjoy small part of nice places in Jakarta.

1. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) or "Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park" is a culture-based recreational area located in East Jakarta, Indonesia. It has an area of about 250 acres (1.0 km2).
The park is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia's 26 (in 1975) provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions with the collections of rumah adat as the example of Indonesian vernacular architecture, clothing, dances and traditions are all depicted impeccably. Apart from that, there is a lake with a miniature of the archipelago in the middle of it, cable cars, museums, Keong Emas Imax cinema, a theater called the Theatre of My Homeland (Theater Tanah Airku) and other recreational facilities which make TMII one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city.
You could reach TMII by many transportation like busway, angkot (a kind of public transportation but operated by personal people), Ojek, taxi or other.
I recomended you to rent a bycycle or rent a motorcycle to explore arround TMII because it would be so tiring if you walking.
The ticket for one person is IDR25.000

2. Monas (Monumen Nasional or National Monument)
The National Monument (Monumen Nasional, abbreviated Monas) is a 132 m (433 ft) tower in the centre of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia.
It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence.
The monument and the museum are open daily from 08.00 until 16.00 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) throughout the week except for the Mondays when the monument is closed. Since April 2016, the monument also opens during night time, from 19.00 until 22.00 in Tuesday to Friday, and from 19.00 until 00.00 in Saturday and Sunday.
But under the leadership of Governor Tjahya Basuki, beginning in 2017 the monument was already in close to tourists at night.
You can use lift to go to the top of Monas and enjoy the view througout Jakarta.
The ticket to get into the building of the monument is IDR15.000

3. Kota Tua (Old Town Complex)
If you want to enjoy a relaxing time in the afternoon while sitting in a vintage cafe to enjoy the unique taste of Indonesian coffee, I recommend the complex of the old town (Kota Tua)
The site contains Dutch-style structures  mostly dated from 17th century, when the port city served as the Asian headquarter of VOC  during the heyday of spice trade. It spans 1.3 square kilometres within North Jakarta  and West Jakarta (Kelurahan Pinangsia, Taman Sari and Kelurahan Roa Malaka, Tambora). The largely Chinese downtown area of Glodok is a part of Kota Tua.
Theres so much old cafe that in running from past to present that serves a lots of different taste of coffee from entire Indonesia. Like Toraja Coffee, Luwak Coffee, Aceh Coffee and many more.
Dont forget to walk arround the complex and buy some souvenire that sold along the streets of the complex.
And if you guys interested, you can get in to a lots of museums there. Like museum of Wayang, Fatahillah Museum and other.
If you only want to wak arround the complex you can get in the area for free. But if you want to see the Wayang colection or other museum the ticket for one person is IDR5.000 (price in 2016)

4. Ancol and Dufan (World of Fantasy)
Dufan is a vast playground that nestling contains rides-extreme rides. Dufan very well known among the people of indonesia. I was so famous, a lot of tour school or group that will have a trip scheduled to dufan as a destination. And Dufan, is part of Ancol that cant be spare.
World of fantasy has a mascot in the form of a proboscis monkey ape named Dufan (abbreviation of the fantasy world). Selected as the APE character is to remind that the former ape area of Ancol.
